How a 3-team round robin schedule runs
Every team plays all the others once, so 3 teams is 3 matches over 3 rounds. The count is odd, so one team sits out in each round and picks up a bye.
With more entries than you planned for, see the 4-team round robin schedule. For any other size, the round robin generator builds the same schedule for the number of teams you actually have.
